My new toy is a Yashica MAT 124, a medium format twin lens reflex camera--thanks to my friend who gave it to me. I'm not sure how well it works yet, but I think the light meter is broken. I'm really excited about it. Now all I need is a scanner that can do medium format negatives.
I took it in to get processed on Saturday. I think they can process it just as easily as color 35mm film, so I think it will be available tomorrow. The BW 35mm film I took in on the same day (first 35mm roll I've shot all year!) won't be ready til probably Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteI decided to forego getting prints with the negatives and instead have them scanned, which was quite expensive where I went. I'll be getting a scanner soon, so if it works for negatives (which my experiments will tell . . .) then I'll probably start shooting a lot more film and just scan it in.
I was just thinking that if I can scan my old negatives, I can do away with old school print processing completely, and touch up / alter many pictures in my archives. That would be awesome.
