  1. Twenty-five? I am soooooo jealous. Happy birthday. I bought your book, because you might be famous someday.

  2. Thanks!

BTW, I showed your profile picture to my wife, and she said you're pretty.

  3. Tell your wife I said thanks and I hope the delivery goes smoothly for her...and you. I hope you plan to be there too.

I am fascinated by Blurb.com. Were you pleased with the finished product? And was it easy to get your book together? If so, I think I will tell my son about this place. He is an artist, but he would love to combine his artwork with writing and maybe do a book suitable for both children and adults.

Why haven't you been visiting Language Guy's blog? Everyone has left him. LT is gone (most of the time anyway). JG is definitely gone. Ron is gone. You are gone. I go there now and then and it is like a ghost town.

  4. I'm pretty pleased with the finished product. There were some pictures that didn't turn out quite as expected--"Daffodil and Shadow" had a little bit of a color shift from yellow to green, and some of the black-and-white pictures seemed a little duller than they do on a computer screen or in prints, but overall I think it's very good.
Also, it is pretty easy to put a book together. I probably spent about 16 hours on it, but that includes a lot of searching for quotes. I'm pleased enough anyway that I've already got a second book idea going, this time with a tighter focus (the theme is going to be minimalist photos of rust and rusty things) and I've been putting all my photographic energy into getting the pictures for that. I've got 38 photos so far (from three different photo shoots in five locations), but I'd like to have at least 120 for it. The problem is that people always kick you out of places with all the good subjects!

As far as LG's blog, I've kind of gotten bored with it. It's been a long time since he's had anything new to say, and the commenters always said the same things too. It was just a lot of time and energy that I think is better spent elsewhere from now on. I might drop by from time to time, but no guarantees.

  5. I'll let you know what I think of your book once it arrives.

I can understand what you mean about LG's blog and his more recent posts. I miss those debates...especially your input.

  6. Happy belated b-day to you, Kelly.

Oh, and btw, that's also my ex-wife's b-day, only she just turned 41 ;)
