WTF: Vampires Everywhere!

The Century Media Podcast has now played a promo for a band called Vampires Everywhere! for three consecutive months. It starts with band introductions--they have normal first names, but their last names are "Darko" and "Vampire". And yes, their name does include the exclamation mark.

After this inauspicious introduction, they play the song. It is some really boring metalcore verses and an extremely pop chorus, complete with Auto-Tuned vocals. Auto-Tune is such a joke that Jeopardy! had a category of auto-tuned Alex Trebek singing nursery rhymes. I won't go so far as to say it's always a joke, but it was on the quiz show, and it is for Vampires Everywhere! too (they just don't know it).

This is ridiculous. It's popcore at best, and it's one more reason to lose faith in Century Media as a label (despite the fact they still have a lot of respectable bands on their roster).

Vampires Everywhere! is to metal what the Twilight series is to vampire movies.

Listen and either (a) laugh heartily at their expense or (b) throw up in your mouth.

  1. Yep, this band sucks. Century Media has been throwing a lot of shit out there for quite awhile. It's weird looking back on when I first started getting into extreme metal, a lot of the bands I checked out were on Century Media. What a world we live in.
